Thanks for coming to my new site! I’m a huge fan of online poker, and I will be updating this blog on a regular basis with poker articles. Today I will discuss Tiger Gaming, a skin of the Action Poker network. Tiger Gaming is a nice site with pleasing graphics and a clean interface. There is a large deposit bonus to earn and you will find the customer support quite accommodating. Tiger Gaming is unique in that it has a number of special games that you will not find in any other poker room. These include the "poker" game of Guts (very loosely called poker), the classic card game Big 2, as well as Chinese Poker and Pan. This isn’t a casino so there’s no blackjack download here, but this will become your site of choice if you enjoy any of the other games. You will, of course, also find poker at this site. Tiger Gaming has tables of Limit and No-limit Texas Hold'Em, Omaha and 7 Card Stud (in theory). Tiger Gaming has targeted Canadians in their recent ad campaigns, encouraging consumers to download free poker in commercials on various TV networks. Presumably they considered Canada a reservoir of underserved poker players. Because of this, many of the players on the site are Canadian, and they don’t have lot of experience at the game. Traffic can be bad at times, especially if you play mid or high stakes. But if you are a low stakes player just getting started on money poker sites, you should be able to find plenty of action from 2 to 25NL. You will usually have three to six 25NL tables to choose from, for example. The same can’t be said for finding 50NL tables. If you are lucky there will be one open, on rare occasions two tables. Finding no-limit games higher than this is next to impossible. Sometimes there will be a NL100 available but very rarely. I have never seen the NL1000 table populated in my time at the site, so these players will just have to make do with Daniels Room poker instead. I also have to admit that the traffic for games other than Hold’em is quite bad. They offer Seven Card Stud tables but nobody, literally nobody, plays them. Omaha is almost as bad. There may be one table of Omaha going on, and it’s usually Pot Limit with 20 cent blinds. If you enjoy these non-Hold’em games, you might need to stick to a PokerStars download. If we’re talking about the unique games (like Big 2), you won’t have trouble finding a game during the busy hours. As Tiger is the only site you can play them, the traffic is reasonable. For example, the game Guts typically can be seen at 2-3 tables at a time, with minimum bets of between 10 and 50 cents. Overall, the action on Tiger Gaming is not good but if you are a lower stakes player, it is not bad either. If you are a beginner at the game, I would recommend that you increase your bankroll at Tiger and then you can move to a Full Tilt Poker download as soon as you’re ready to try higher buy-ins. I hope you enjoyed my blog today! In a couple weeks I’ll write about the interface at Tiger. |
